Okay, discretion is the better part of valor and we are opting to reschedule. There is no guarantee that the new date will be warmer or dryer but tomorrow is expected to be 16F (-9C) with the 5-7 inches of snow we got today. So we are pushing out to February.

When not brewing, the Regimental Brewmeister will often assume the personae of David Rittenhouse who was a renowned astronomer, surveyor, and Director of the US Mint. Rittenhouse was best known for his work on the transit of Venus and solid accessible explanations of the phenomena in the heavens.  He would frequently confer with the Franklin, Jefferson, Washington and Madison on the practical details (like the manufacture of currency) of how our new nation should be managed. David Rittenhouse was the new nation’s favorite example of what Americans could contribute to the Enlightenment.

We will be at the 1707 Rittenhouse family homestead.  The Regimental Brewmeister is setting up a field brewery in front of the historic bakehouse.  Cooks and bakers will manage the bakehouse and the Brewmeister will be making beer (Redcoat IPA).  We welcome all who are willing to come out.
