In the 18th Century, beer was critical to survival, even at sea. Join the Regimental Brewer for this, the last brewing session in 2024, in Lewes DE as we replenish ships stores. Samples of 18th Century beer will be provided and we will weave in a few fun little side stories to make this a must not miss event. Oh, it’s also free so why not come out.
This is part of Historic Lewes’ Living History Days which are held on the third Saturday of each month, April through December, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to my brewing, you will find period dressed staff, sharing stories of Lewes from bygone times. During your visit, see historical demonstrations, participate in hands-on craft activities, play early American games, and enjoy something good to drink from the Sussex Tavern or Lewistown Coffee-House. While you are here, be sure to visit the Cannonball House Maritime Museum (118 Front St.), U.S. Life-Saving Service Boat House (Canalfront Park), Ryves Holt House Museum & Mercantile (218 2nd St.), and Lewes History Museum (101 Adams Ave.) for additional programs throughout the day.
