Colonial Brewing Workshop
10 AM-4 PM
$100

Due to the current air quality crisis, we are rescheduling this event for June 17!

Yes, I know this is the weekend of Monmouth and I certainly appreciate why you might want to engage in a battle with more casualties due to the heat than gunfire but Monmouth has no beer!

Hopefully the winds will cooperate and the next week will be cleaner next week (especially for my friends trying to peacefully withdraw from Philadelphia only to be met by the Continentals). We chose to push this brewing class for Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation back a week in the hopes of a more enjoyable time to be outside and at the plantations we will have lots of beer!

If you missed the chance to register, there is still space. Go to https://form.jotform.com/230644428366156 for details.

Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation is hosting an in depth colonial brewing workshop on 6/17/2023! Master Colonial Brewer, Michael Carver will be sharing his amazing knowledge of 18th century beer production. Have a hands on experience and take home the results of your work to ferment into the Spruce Beer wort that you can use to make the same beer that saved many 18th Century expeditions into the far north and helped the men avoid scurvy and other ailments. This is a members only event, so join today and come out for the fun! This workshop will be held outside on the farm, and we ask participants to dress comfortably for the weather. The minimum age for this workshop is 21 years old. Refreshments will be served.

My goal is to bring history alive through interactive portrayal of ordinary American life in the late 18th Century (1750—1799) My persona are: Journeyman Brewer; Cordwainer (leather tradesman but not cobbler), Statesman and Orator; Chandler (candle and soap maker); Gentleman Scientist; and, Soldier in either the British Regular Army, the Centennial Army, or one of the various Militia. Let me help you experience history 1st hand!
