Wow, the presentation at Washington’s Crossing on July 4 was both very rewarding and too much for any one person to handle alone. I really love doing these programs and I am getting more and more calls from worthy organizations to come and present the Colonial Brewer but I need help. I’m reaching out try to recruit a few hardy apprentice brewers to help me with these programs.
If you are a brewer who wants to hone your skills in my 18th Century process, or you are a reenactor who loves to tell stories, I need you. I need help both managing the crowds (we had over 100 visitors on 7/4 and most stayed in my camp for half an hour or more. I need help setting up and tearing down the camp. And, above all, I need help with the brewing. When this program is really at its best, it is easy to get swept up in the people interactions, telling stories, sharing beers, and generally BEING the Brewmeister; but the beer still needs tending. It’s just too much for one person to do alone. I am enthusiastic volunteers to help me teach the history, make the beer, DRINK THE BEER, and generally ensure that the camp works safely. Are you up for the challenge?
Volunteering with the Regimental Brewmeister is easy, fun and rewarding. Did I mention FREE BEER; yes, we drink what we make and I have surplus. If you are interested in joining me, please send me a note at colonialbrewer@gmail.com. I will bring all the gear and supplies, I need you to just come in kit and be a brewer for a day., I will ensure that the events are booked and all the materials are ready. I just need someone to be my partner and spell me occasionally so I get breaks during the day as I am getting older.
Reach out to me to learn more, or feel free to check out www.colonialbrewer.com to see what this program is all about and what is coming up. I look forward to hearing from you.
