Public houses and taverns played an integral role in the commercial life of the American Colonies.  They weren’t simply places to drink. They were a place to meet like-minded individuals, meeting places at which to conduct business, and clearinghouses for news about both local and global events.

Please Help

I will be setting up the Admiral of the Blue Apron at the Morgan Log House on Saturday September 21; but I have recently suffered a significant injury and really need help with this event. If you are interested in hosting pub games, maybe manning the bar for a few hours, helping with set-up or breakdown at this event, please send me an email (colonialbrewer@gmail.com) or call (215-512-3380). Any assistance I can get will be greatly appreciated. I can even find a few funds for a stipend if that helps. As a member of the Admiral’s team, you are entitled to free admission, drinks, and dinner. I have a limited stock of 18th Century attire (including a dress my wife wants to get rid of) which you are welcome to use if you get in touch with me soon.

It’s the full Tavern Experience

Our program is the full 18th Century Tavern Experience. We will have all manner of libations, toasting competitions, tavern games, glees, and, of course, storytelling. There will also be other programming for you to enjoy as well including dinner, a silent auction. and a pub trivia competition.

My menu:

  • Fish House Punch (in an 18th C Punch Bowl)
  • Black Tea Punch (in an 18th C Punch Bowl)
  • Assorted Beer, Mead, and Cider prepared a various area events by the Regimental Brewmeister.
  • Spruce Beer (on tap)
  • John Adams Breakfast Cider (on tap)
  • Ale Flips
  • Cherry Bounce
  • Various other 18th Century Cocktails (which I can teach you to prepare)
