Sic semper tyrannis is a Latin phrase attributed to Marcus Iunius Brutus, one of the people who assassinated Julius Caesar. It can be translated as “Thus always to tyrants”. It is a shortened version of the phrase “Sic semper evello mortem tyrannis” (“Thus always I bring death to tyrants”).  Sadly, it is time.  Last night, Donald Trump declared war on the American people, threatening to override the decision of any governor who refused to use excessive force in quelling the protest (Note: He said “protests” not “riots.”  Yes, the riots are a problem but peaceful protests are constitutionally protected free speech!).  This is but the latest in a huge list of abuses and usurpations by this president who thinks himself a king.  It’s time he is reminded that THIS is the country that stood up to the mightiest empire in the world and DEFEATED it; THIS is the country that BORN in protests and free speech; and THIS is the country that set the standard for modern constitutional republics.

Today’s vote is a start.  If you have not mailed in your ballot, go and cast a vote.  Failing to cast a vote is abdicating your role in the republic to those who will control your destiny.  ITS UNAMERICAN! We owe it to ourselves and our fellow Americans to attempt peaceful change of power.  Don’t fool yourselves, however, by believing restoring our government will be as easy as voting Trump out and a new “anti-Trump” into office.  We must continue the fight but we must fight the battle on all fronts, not just stand in the already empty streets and shout.

When the people of Boston wanted the Intolerable Acts rescinded; yes, they protested but they also acted and so must we.  The best way to get the attention of the Republican party is through ECONOMIC PROTESTS.  Research where you spend your money carefully choose who you support remembering that many of these companies are funding political campaigns.  To the extent possible, stop buying goods and services and continue to shut down the economy.  Keep your investments but stop trading.  Barter with your neighbors rather than buying from Walmart and Amazon and deny the government the tax revenue.  Hit them where they can’t hit back and hit them HARD. Yes, throwing tea in the harbor is a cathartic and very visible act but ultimately those responsible causing the problems we face are not hurt by vandalism.

We must hang together lest we be forced to hang separately.  This president wants to harm everyone who doesn’t actively kowtow to him. Bring back the Liberty Tree and hang a giant orange effigy of Trump from its branches!

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Its time to choose sides. Yes, I don’t often agree with ANTIFA but there is a very simple way to get rid of ANTIFA — Start by getting rid of the damn FASCISTS then they won’t have a reason to riot in our streets. It’s time to make America great again , like it was before 2016 when having a “bad” president meant they held political ideals we disagreed with not they refused to “defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States of America.” We have reached the point where even Nixon looks like a better president than the orangutan we have today.
