Colonial Brewing: An Immersive History Experience

Join the Regimental Brewmeister for a unique opportunity to experience the art and craft of 18^th century brewing. This class will malt the grain, brew the mash over the fire in true 18^th century fashion and each participant will take home a growler of the result and necessary equipment to finish the fermenting process at home! Learn about beer’s place at the early American table and what really happened in colonial taverns. Wear work clothes and bring leather gloves. This workshop takes place outside so dress appropriately. COVID masks are still required (even for those of use who are vaccinated). Attendance strictly limited to assure social distancing.

Price will be $75/person and this will include more Colonial Beer than you should drink.. Every participant will have the have the opportunity to participate, hands-on, in the making of the wort and then take some of that wort home to ferment into beer (ie I will be giving you a growler, airlock, and some yeast and if you follow the provided instructions in about 10 days you will have Spruce Beer).

If you’ve never attended one of our Colonial Brewing Classes you are missing a real treat. At the demonstrations, I prepare beer and offer samples but all you get to do is observe. In our brewing classes, YOU ARE THE BREWER, and we coach. At the end of the day, you take home your wares to ferment into your own authentic 18th Century Spruce Beer which you can share with your friends.

VIP Groups get coached as teams by our expert brewers. Your team does all the brewing, hands-on and then takes home wort to ferment at home.

• VIP Group of 10 get 10 gallons (2 kegs) of wort
• VIP Group of 5 gets 5 gallons of wort
• VIP Group of 4 gets 1 gallon of wort
• Individuals get 1/2 gallon of wort.
• Pay at the gate gets no wort to take home.
