This weekend, we ran a brewing class at Fort Mifflin. For some time, it has been my practice to GIVE FREE SAMPLES during these programs but this weekend, that largess was abused. Well over $51 in reusable bottles were taken and I don’t know who took them. Sadly, because of the actions of a few (likely single) person, I must STOP GIVING SAMPLES. I simply cannot afford to lose the imported bottles ($6 each) just because someone thinks they are cool. This is a sad day.

Going forward, my beer will ONLY be served to vetted reenactors and staff.

Should these bottles find their way back to Fort Mifflin (this are Heller Bock bottles, not the cheap Chinese knock-offs you buy at the homebrew shop nor are they Grolsh bottles), I might recant on this decision.

My goal is to bring history alive through interactive portrayal of ordinary American life in the late 18th Century (1750—1799) My persona are: Journeyman Brewer; Cordwainer (leather tradesman but not cobbler), Statesman and Orator; Chandler (candle and soap maker); Gentleman Scientist; and, Soldier in either the British Regular Army, the Centennial Army, or one of the various Militia. Let me help you experience history 1st hand!
