Do you want to be on the crew of the Regimental Brewmeister? Do you like talking to the public and teaching them about the 18th Century? If so I need your help. As the pandemic (slowly) ebbs, there are many locations that have asked for Colonial Brewing demonstrations but like you, I have a day job. I need help.
Setting up and running these events requires a fair bit of effort and if anyone want to be a real apprentice brewer (not the fiction we use when we teach but actually engage in the process both in front of crowds and behind the scenes), I will welcome the help. It can be a lot of fun as well as an opportunity to get involved in the craft of 18th Century brewing and learn how what I do is different from what is done in a modern brewery (commercial or homebrewing). Oh, by the way, I also offer FREE BEER!
If you want to join me, the first event is June 25th at Bolton Mansion in Levittown, PA. I will be setting up the field brewery and tavern on the lawn and we are expecting a fairly good-sized turn-out. You need to come in appropriate 18th Century attire (I have limited loaners available). If you are interested in joining me (previous brewing and reenacting experience is not needed), please email me at colonialbrewer@gmail.com and we can discuss the details.
NOTE: This is not a paid event so I cannot offer any compensation other than the aforementioned free beer, the satisfaction of learning a bygone trade, and the adoration of the crowd.
