I am making the final arrangements for Tavern Night at Rittenhouse Town and need to recruit one or two people to join me for the event.  Tasks will be tending bar (mostly prepared drinks but occasional Ale Flip or Smoking Bishop) and teaching 18th Century games (especially Whist).   I have the bar and tavern games, food is being handled by site staff.  Otherwise, we just roam around and add a little color to the event.

You get into the event and eat and drink for free plus I can find a stipend if it helps.

Details:

  • February 8th from 6pm to 8pm  (set up beginning at 4:00pm)
  • 6034 Wissahickon Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19144  (off Lincoln Drive in Germantown)
  • 18th Century civilian attire

My goal is to bring history alive through interactive portrayal of ordinary American life in the late 18th Century (1750—1799) My persona are: Journeyman Brewer; Cordwainer (leather tradesman but not cobbler), Statesman and Orator; Chandler (candle and soap maker); Gentleman Scientist; and, Soldier in either the British Regular Army, the Centennial Army, or one of the various Militia. Let me help you experience history 1st hand!
