The Regimental Brewmeister needs to recruit one or two people to help with upcoming paid events. Most events are in the general Philadelphia area but some require travel.
- Brewers: Learn to brew as an 18th Century Journeyman brewer. Talk to the public about beer, brewing, and sanitation in the 18th Century. Serve samples.
- Tavern Keepers: Tasks will be tending bar (mostly prepared drinks but occasional Ale Flip or Smoking Bishop) and teaching 18th Century games (especially Whist), and adding color to the event.
- Surveyors: Present to the public the tools, techniques, and common practices of surveying in the 18th Century. Coordinate “hands-on” exercise where participants pull chains, sight lines, do basic computations, and make maps.
- Scientists: Demonstrate the “big science” of the 18th Century. Discuss the evolution of science during the Enlightenment and the role of AMERICAN scientist in advancing this shift.
- Spymasters: Teach codes and cyphers used by spies during the American Revolution. Dispatch participants to collect, record, and transmit information. Discuss the importance of intelligence in a military campaign.
You get into these events for free, have access to free beer and libations at certain events, and will be given a generous stipend at paid events. 18th Century civilian attire needed. No experience required. I will train you in the technical aspects. Need to be a people person with a “stage presence.”
